Each summer, the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art hosts a week-long summer studio art camp for young artists. They work with professional artists in various mediums all week to produce a portfolio or exhibition. We have camps for grades 3-12.
Junior Summer Art Camp
for students entering 3-6 grades
July 11-14, 9 am-3 pm; July 15, 9 am-12 pm
Price: $200 for general public; $175 for TVAA members at the Family/Friend level or above
Students will develop fundamental skills while exploring multiple mediums, led by veteran artists & art instructors. Our 2022 instructors and projects are Barb Hendricks (clothing design and fairy houses), Amita Bhakta (Lippan Kaam plaster relief and clay), Kerrigan Casey (developing characters and storyboards), and Provie Musso (assemblage and masks). This year’s junior camp class will be divided into two groups: 3rd & 4th graders and 5th & 6th graders. Snacks are provided throughout the day, but students should bring a bag lunch.

Advanced Art Camp with Martha Carpenter
for students entering 7th-12th grades
Schedule: July 5-8, 1 pm-3 pm
Price: $150 for general public; $125 for TVAA members at the Family/Friend level or above
Students will work with acclaimed portrait artist Martha Carpenter to explore advanced drawing methods, learn new skills, and refine existing techniques. The class is limited to ten students to allow for one-on-one instruction and feedback.
