Call for Artist Submissions: Winter Art Market 2023

Tennessee Valley Museum of Art - Winter Art Market - November 15 through December 23

The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art invites artists to apply for our 2023 Winter Art Market. Public dates for this year’s Market are November 28 through December 23. Applications Still OPEN!

Overview

About the Winter Art Market:
The Winter Art Market is a month-long drop-off market. Artists ship or drop off their artwork, and we collaborate with them to set up attractive beautiful booth spaces throughout our museum. Our staff handles publicity and sales, as people shop during musuem hours througout the holiday shopping season.

We started the Winter Art Market in 2020 to help artists who had lost income due to canceled festivals and exhibitions. We grossed over $26,000 in sales the first year (during the height of the pandemic). Since then the market has averaged gross sales of $40,000. We anticipate continued growth in sales as word of the variety and quality of the works offered continues to spread.  This event is developing a stellar reputation regionally for its consistency of quality and the varied styles, media, and price points of the artwork. We would love to have you be part of our continued growth!

What are we looking for?

The Winter Art Market features unique, high quality, handmade items in a wide variety of media. We feel that maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and quality is key to the continued success of this market. Previously, we have represented artists producing works in painting, photography, ceramics, fibers, wood, glass, jewelry, printmaking, etc. We also have offered artisan handmade candles, soaps, and other artisan good in a separate ‘Mercantile’ area.

Fees: There are no fees to apply and no booth fees. Our commission is 25% of all sales. You simply price your artwork with this commission in mind.
