Cotton Culture
On Display at the TVMA October 1 – November 12
Dozens of beautiful quilts will be on display at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art from October 1 through November 12 for the exhibition From These Threads: Cotton Culture.
Cotton in the South has a long, rich, and complicated past. From These Threads: Cotton Culture will offer visitors the opportunity to travel through some of the history of cotton, its production, and its use in the creation of quilts over the past 190 years. The exhibit will feature historical quilts dating from the 1830s through contemporary pieces created by today’s quilt artists. The quilts are drawn from private collections in the area.
