Tennessee Valley Museum of Art’s permanent collection is home to many of Ethel Davis’s original artworks. Ethel’s unique vision and love of narrative translated easily to the brush as she worked on various surfaces in paint and tar. It was Ethel’s vision for an art museum in the Tennessee Valley that lead to the creation of the Tennessee Valley Art Association. Ethel taught classes in her barn, also known as “the art barn.” Many of her students are still producing work today.
