Description
The Tennessee Valley Art Association is hosting a fresh holiday decorating event on Monday, November, 29, at 6:00 pm at the Ritz Studio Annex, which is just next door to the Ritz Theatre. Guests will have the opportunity to watch demonstrations by Diane Carroll-Rowell of Something Ele’Gant Florals on making wreaths, garland, and tablescapes with fresh greenery that can easily be found outside.
Tickets are $15 and include one drink ticket. Refreshments and a cash bar will also be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance as seating is limited. Purchasers’ names will be on the attendee list, and your emailed receipt will also serve as a ticket.
This will be a lively and festive event for anyone who wants to get ideas for their own holiday decorating, or for anyone who enjoys watching someone create something beautiful. Guests are invited to eat, drink and chat while they watch the holiday decorating demonstration. Carroll- Rowell says she plans for this workshop-style demonstration to be a great opportunity to revisit times past and do things the more natural way than the commercial way.
“I want to create an atmosphere of joy and excitement for the holiday season,” says Carroll- Rowell. “I want less focus on the glitz and more on the natural, easily accessible decorations I used as a kid. We all need joy more than anything right now, and bringing back the feelings of the old holiday season is something I think could do a great deal of good.”
